Durability of recycled fine mortars under freeze–thaw cycles

چکیده
The characterisation of recycled fine mortars under frost action was highlighted in this study. Mortars with three different ratios cement (RC), namely (10%, 30% and 50%) along a reference mortar 0% RC were prepared subjected to freeze–thaw (F–T) cycles without air-entraining agents. After 96 F–T cycles, the specimens did not reveal any macroscopic damage; however, changes noticed at microscopic level. pore diameter increased size rehydrated products decreased, especially case 50% mixes. In experimental study, physical (mass loss dimensional variation) mechanical (flexural strength dynamic elastic modulus) behaviour revealed that critical period structural degradation occurred during first 24 cycles.

Increased Durability of Concrete Made with Fine Recycled Concrete Aggregates Using Superplasticizers
This paper evaluates the influence of two superplasticizers (SP) on the durability properties of concrete made with fine recycled concrete aggregate (FRCA). For this purpose, three families of concrete were tested: concrete without SP, concrete made with a regular superplasticizer and concrete made with a high-performance superplasticizer. Five volumetric replacement ratios of natural sand by F...
متن کاملHistoric Mortars: Characterization and Durability. New Tendencies for Research
A mortar is a material resulting of the intimate mixture of sand grains, a binder (lime, cement, etc.) and water. The properties and characteristic of the mortars mainly depend on the nature of the binder component. That is the reason for which, its evolution with time has been very related to the development of artificial cementitious materials. So, with the consolidation of the Roman civiliza...
متن کاملDurability of wood plastic composites manufactured from recycled plastic
The influence of accelerated weathering, xenon-arc light and freeze-thaw cycling on wood plastic composites extruded from a recycled plastic was studied. The results showed that, in general, weathering had a stronger impact on samples made from plastic waste compared to a sample made from virgin material. After weathering, the mechanical properties, tensile and flexural, were reduced by 2-30%, ...

T paper models and quantifies the cost-savings potential of production systems that collect, remanufacture, and remarket end-of-use products as perfect substitutes while facing the fundamental supply-loop constraints of limited component durability and finite product life cycles. The results demonstrate the need to carefully coordinate production cost structure, collection rate, product life cy...
متن کاملAn Experimental Study of Mortars with Recycled Ceramic Aggregates: Deduction and Prediction of the Stress-Strain
The difficult current environmental situation, caused by construction industry residues containing ceramic materials, could be improved by using these materials as recycled aggregates in mortars, with their processing causing a reduction in their use in landfill, contributing to recycling and also minimizing the consumption of virgin materials. Although some research is currently being carried ...
